"Craftsboro is a one day Greensboro maker fair to benefit CWS and refugee resettlement. The concept grew out of a desire to bring the GSO community together, and to support a local nonprofit. Our hope is that makers, musicians, chefs, and shoppers will come together to show support for Greensboro, refugees, and the talent that lives within our community. We chose to support CWS Greensboro because of their necessary work and the lack of funding they are currently receiving. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the organization, and there will be opportunities to donate at the event. Read more about them here: http://cwsgreensboro.org/."

"Join us to celebrate our favorite Metal Makers!
Staci Sawyer Phebus is the metalsmith artist behind Juniper Bay Metals. Working out of her studio in downtown Raleigh, NC, she creates raw, simply refined, nature-derived designs, utilizing silver, gold and semi-precious stones. The name comes from Juniper Bay, a beautiful coastal area along the "Inner Banks" where the Pamlico Sound meets the marshlands of Swan Quarter, NC. These landscapes resonate with her work that is influenced by the treasures of the sea and natural world."
Other Metal Makers on display this month include Geoflora, Mona Enamel and Windblown.
Join us at the "The Purple House", at the corner of Bloodworth & Lane, for a bit of shopping, holiday drinks and live music! The neighborhood will be alive with holiday cheer as the Oakwood Candlelight Tour will also be underway. Our studio open house event is free and open to the public; if you'd like to join the candlelight tour you may purchase tickets here.
Drop by the Juniper Bay Metals Studio on Saturday, November 28th (Small Business Saturday!) from 1-5pm and knock out some holiday gift shopping while supporting a cause that is near to my heart. For every piece of jewelry sold in-store on Saturday, I will donate 15% to the Chris Baldwin Memorial Music Project.
Chris Baldwin was a longtime, close friend of mine who passed away too soon back in February 2014. He was a truly special and caring individual and, among many other things, was an incredible musician and songwriter.
Chris' loving fiancee, Margaret, works for the wonderful Tammy Lynn Center for Disabilities (TLC) here in Raleigh. TLC "...empowers families and enriches the lives of children and adults through education, community and support services." They "provide hope and opportunities for individuals to learn, live and grow to their fullest potential."
Margaret created the Chris Baldwin Memorial Music Project to honor Chris though a music therapy program for TLC's residents and students. Before this program was created, TLC had no formal music therapy program. Now they have a weekly music session and are beginning to acquire equipment and technology to assist folks with varying abilities in creating musical experiences.
I hope to see you on Saturday (or tell your "Santa" to drop by)!
"Come join us after the Downtown Raleigh Christmas Parade in City Market! We will have amazing local craft vendors, baked goods, Carolers, and SANTA to get everyone in the Holiday Spirit!!
